I'm starting to feel some of what
finta is going through with Amazon, although the book I'm waiting for should not be so difficult to get a hold of. I think. I mentioned earlier that I had ordered Volumes 3, 4, and 5 of The Sandman at the beginning of the month. I wasn't informed at the time that there would be any problems with my order. They were all in stock. Supposedly. Well, maybe two days later I was told there would be a delay with Volume 4,
Pieces of You, although they didn't make it sound like it would be a big delay. I received Volumes 3 and 5 a week after I placed my order, which is no biggie since I was going with the free standard shipping option. I was then told the delay would put the shipment of my last item somewhere between July 20 and July 28. I just found out tonight that the delay has now been pushed to August 20 or so, and I needed to confirm whether or not I still wanted the order. Of course I do, but I'm wondering whether I could find it in a bookstore faster. I remember looking at Border's selection when I was in California, and I don't think they had Volume 4, either. I'm sure some volumes are more popular than others, but let me know when I order the book if you don't have it. Geez.
Which brings up another unrelated consumer grievance. We bought a Sesame Street Kid Clips player at Toys R Us last Saturday for Corinne. It comes with the "C is for Cookie" cartridge. Corinne loves it. I go to find more of these clips to put in the thing, and it turns out they're not in production anymore. Can't Toys R Us let me know this sort of thing before I buy the product? I know it's not really their problem, but now I have to buy more of these clips off eBay if I don't want to hear "Oh, cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C!" all day long.
Josh just brought me a Green Tea Frappucino. Mmmmmmm. Everything's looking better.
